Dutch language training
You're living and working in the Netherlands, but you don't speak very well Dutch yet.
You would like to work, but you don't have a job. Or you do have a job, but it doesn't really offer perspectives. Your clients are taking a distance from you because of your foreign accent when you try to speak Dutch. Maybe you would like to start your own business, but how can you do that in the Netherlands? That must be quite frustrating and you sure want to solve the problem!
If you learn the Dutch language very well, your life will be much easier. If you don't speak very well Dutch, you can talk with many people, but when they start talking among themselves, you won't understand a word. If you
really want contact and if you want the communication with your Dutch colleagues and managers to be smooth, you do need to learn the language. As long as you don't speak very well Dutch, they won't really consider you as a real colleague. Not because they're not nice, but because there's a language barrier.
Now if you know the Dutch customs very well, you can use them in order to create a successful life. Even if you speak good Dutch, but don't know the Dutch way of communicating, you will be way off. Let's take an example: say that a colleague of yours, whose job you'd really imagine having, is leaving the company soon. Why wouldn't you have that job? So what will you do? In your country you would probably start working as hard as possible in such a case: then your manager will see that you're ready for promotion. Not in Holland though! Here your manager would think you're very satisfied with your position and he wouldn't even consider to give you a promotion. You'd have to actually
tell your manager what you want in order to have it.
You can learn all these skills quite easily. Many foreigners are successful in this country. Mrs. Albayrak, Secretary of State for integration and Mr. Aboutaleb, now mayor of Rotterdam, are your examples. But also on less visible high positions there are foreigners. Everwhere in companies and at municipalities you see them. You can be the next! How would you like that?
Even more now that we're in a financial crisis, you need to know the Dutch language and culture inside out. Your company will need you to mean everything to them now. They need you more than ever now and without knowing how to live successfully in this country, you can't do your job better than you did before.
How do you persuade your manager that you need to follow these training courses?
Dutch employers want their staff to be satisfied and satisfied you are when you do the job you're good at and you like. If you can have a better position in the company where you work because you know the Dutch language now, a problem will be solved for your employer as well: as a Dutch manager he or she wants you to be satisfied and wants you to provide as much as possible for the company. Also the municipality where you live, will be satisfied when you'll find a good job or start your own successful business. So ask for a brochure by following the link underneath, give it to your manager and tell him how enthusiastic you are about these courses.
